CIVIL & MINING EQUIPMENT
A Nyamal Traditional Owner Indigenous business dedicated to delivering project solutions for the mine, civil and transport sectors focused on safety, systems and training.

Why We Became Jakarli Group Services
Since our inception, EK Contracting Pty Ltd has proudly delivered earthworks, plant hire, and civil support to projects across Western Australia. Over time, we’ve grown — in scope, in community, and in culture. And with that growth came the opportunity to realign our name with who we are, and what we stand for.
As of June 2025, EK Contracting Pty Ltd will now be trading as:
Jakarli Group Services
This change is in name only — our ABN, ownership, systems, and dedication to safe, reliable service remain unchanged.
🌱 Why “Jakarli”?
“Jakarli” is a word from the Nyamal Aboriginal language. It means:
-
To carry babies — a symbol of our investment in training and mentoring the next generation of Indigenous operators
-
To carry water — a nod to our ability to support and sustain remote projects
-
To dig — a perfect reflection of our expertise in civil, mining, and earthmoving services
These meanings align deeply with our company values: safety, growth, Indigenous empowerment, and environmental respect.
🤝 Why It Matters
This is more than a rebrand. It’s a statement of identity.
As a business founded on partnerships with Traditional Owners and First Nations operators, the name Jakarli honours the past — while creating space for a future that is stronger, more inclusive, and proudly Indigenous-led.
We thank all our clients, partners, and employees for growing with us.

CRUSHING & SCREENING
Delivery of crushing and screening contract of 1.7million tones of road building materials to main roads specification or a Great Northern Highway overpass, encompassing the supply of a range of equipment. We mobilised to a remote location in the Pilbara using our internal transport division encompassing multiple quad floats and drop decks. This project required detailed Traffic Management Plans as it required vehicles and trucks to be entering and exiting Main Roads. Our operators are multiskilled to operate our entire fleet and hold traffic management qualifications though our award-winning training division.
Safety was our main focus, as the pit was congested with mobile plant interaction, so our HSE Coordinator spent considerable time on site ensuring the CRAW, SWI, SWMS and JHA were followed and executed to our high standard. Our management team aspires to visibly see what is written in all safety documentation and ensure it is delivered on site on a daily basis. This project was so remote we had no phone coverage and the site office needed to run of star link.
Our supervisors on this project have considerable experience working in remote conditions and the additional mental health responsibility that goes with this to ensure we manage our workforce efficiently.

WONGAN HILLS
Our team was entrusted with managing a critical project spread across multiple locations along the road. Each team member needed to execute their tasks with maximum efficiency to complete the project within the stipulated duration.
Our skilled operators played a pivotal role in ensuring the project’s success. They meticulously managed the borrow pit for the client and ensured that the material was blended adequately to meet the main road specifications before delivering it to the road works. Our team also employed a water cart to control the dust and a roller to guarantee the proper compaction of the material. We utilized a profiler to transport the material back to the quarry, where it could be repurposed for future projects.
Effective communication channels were a crucial aspect of the project’s success. Our team members communicated regularly to ensure everyone was privy to the project’s progress and any issues requiring prompt attention. Our highly skilled operators were proficient in operating the various equipment on the project, and their expertise was instrumental in ensuring that the project was completed on time and to the client's satisfaction. We take pride in delivering top-notch services and equipment to our clients and remain willing and capable of undertaking fresh challenges.

FMG PROJECT
To maximize safety and efficiency, our team arranged seven trucks in a pocket road train formation. This setup was designed to improve productivity and ensure a safe working environment.
We also used advanced profilers alongside the trucks to ensure smooth coordination and effective communication throughout the process. This approach was crucial for maintaining a seamless workflow and high performance.
Guided by our skilled grader operator, we followed precise instructions to evenly and uniformly spread the material across the designated area. Our team worked diligently, following all safety protocols and best practices to achieve outstanding results.

GNOWANGERUP SHOULDER WIDENING
The Shire of Gnowangerup called for a low cost approach to widen the existing seal width from 3.3m to 3.6m and provide a 1m sealed shoulder as well as install an Audible Edge line.
To be low cost the methodology they requested was to utilise the existing material on the shoulders, bring it up with the grader and only use a minimal amount of top up materials.
This was a particular challenge due to the existing road not being uniform and there being wheel ruts where we had to marry the seal in, as well as the amount of import material being restricted.
However we got the job done in a safe and timely fashion achieving our goal for the project of zero incidents.
